Look what my mom made for me!!

Nan will be 82 this summer. She is blind( less than 10%) She made me this blanket. Isn't it the most beautiful blanket in the world. Nan made the squares and I sewed the them together and added a border. I treasure each thing she makes me. I can almost feel the love she puts in to it. Its not easy for her. She is not only blind she is loosing her memory. I am so proud of her for her fighting spirit. Precious.

I cannot wait to start on another baby sweater. I am hooked. So many colors floating in my mind. I have my buttons out and that alone gives me tons of ideas. I am excited. I have a felted bag started, but I am going to cheat on all my other projects and plans. I wish for you as much joy as is in my heart today. So on to my chair, a cup of strong tea, a basket of yarn and a baby sweater in the works.

Delightful new baby sweater pattern site!

Pattern for the sweater

This pattern is just wonderful. Love it!!!!!. The site the pattern is from is so interesting and fun.

This sweater will go to charity and I plan on making many more. I made the sweater from I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby. I did sc and rev sc around it, but it is not needed. I was in my chair all done and the movie was still on and girls I just couldn't stop. I just crocheted an elephant and a peanut for a button. Yes I sewed it on really really well you would have to cut it off. I am sure my elephant and peanut are baby safe.

I just looked at the pics of the elephant and the eyes were a little off I fixed it.

Sponge Bob is going on the Hoodie

I have spent all day on Sponge Bob and Patrick. I had so many calls today. I did a washer load and cooked pork steaks and bakers and a big salad etc. So maybe I didn't do so badly time wise.

I could not find a Patrick pink. I looked yesterday, but the color of the hoodie kind of makes you forget hes a little pinker in the flesh. Wp thinks I should make Sponge Bob's teeth a little thicker to show up. I have been at this all day so I think they are OK. This is what I think I will do once the hoodie is done: The back is done and the left side almost. On the front embroidery a line and fish hook let Sponge Bob hang on to it then he hangs on to Patrick. I think I have a silver metal looking thread for the hook. I plan on putting fish all around and maybe some jelly fish. I almost put a jellyfish net in sponge Bob's hand. I guess I will just mess around with it for awhile. I left the threads on to sew it down.

I had to strand the yarn and then it hit me good grief I had floss. I worry about myself. I think I nailed the eyes. And really it is about the eyes and color. Usually I never put anything up till its done because it winds up getting frogged.

I wish for you a wonderful day with lots of smiles.

Edit: I knew I should have not put up pics till I was done with the sweater. I think Patrick is a tad to big hmmmm. I may put him inside the hoodie on the back with the word Boo in big black letters above his head. I shall land on my feet people ;) I don't want to waste poor Patrick he was such challenge to make.

Blast from the past Monday: Valentine jumper

I have no idea where this pattern came from. My DD looked cute as a button in it 24 years ago when she went to the boy's valentine party at school. She wore it to church when we had our valentine party for the kids. She was voted Little Miss Sweetheart...she was the only little girl in the church for years. Everyone would ask her what her name was and she would take a deep breath and say, DOLL BABY GILL. You know it is said, it takes a village to raise a child well... it also can take a village to spoil one rotten.

As you can see I cheated on my not using from my stash.... I did say I would buy cotton so really just the brown fleck is cheater yarn. The girl wants a brown set for her coat. It is all WP's fault he had no business leaving me in the tiny yarn dept and going to automotive. I was on the phone to DD at the time and she mentioned wanting a brown set . I glanced down at the brown fleck and a moment of weakness over came me. They both need to share in the blame for the yarn slip up:).

I am on the left front of the hoodie and I am looking for Patrick the Starfish pink....hint at what it may become. I will update about Nan on my other blog. Hugs and please hug me back I could use it .
