May this New Year bring you great joy!!
The basket is full of simple knitted dishcloths, scrubbies, and a couple of coasters made from old cds. The basket had been overloaded before the pic. A few guests raided it. I will do this next Christmas I do believe.
The breast cancer ribbon bag needs a lining and the handles put on. I am so lazy I did not go and find a better background. When the bag is finished I will try to have a better picture.
I hope I will be posting more. That would mean my folks are doing better.

I am still here
My projects have had to take a back seat here lately. Deep sigh. I have made many colorful dishcloths. The dishcloths are all in a rainbow stack waiting to be put in a basket for Christmas day. The basket will be at the door so each guest can take their pick as they leave. I had to have some mindless knitting. The brown breast cancer ribbon purse is felted and waiting for a lining and handles. I will post pics soon I hope.

Birthday hat and scarf
My DD birthday is next week so I finished in plenty of time. Once again my favorite hat pattern ( link to the free hat pattern is in the mother and son hat post) and just a fast simple granite stitch scarf. The mittens are from the book FUNKY CHUNKY KNITTING by Jan Eton. The button on the hat is a perfect match. I noticed the color is just not even close in the pics. The mitts are two needle and so easy that it is almost a sin. The mitts pattern is my must have it done fast pattern. The book has a pair that buttons on the side with sweet little loops that go over the buttons. I have made several and everyone loves them. They are not serious mittens, but often I need a quick fix.
I still have the brown bag with the pink breast cancer ribbons on the needles. I am learning to really dislike this bag. I will change the handles. It must be done before Christmas. I have 6 more rows on the graph. The pattern is sound. It is just me dragging my feet. I have had so much fun making hats that the graph thing is a real drag.
I now have a big button collection for lovely hats I have been knitting. I am staying on my yarn budget . tee hee

I made another set!
Bri Z. liked the hats so another mother and son set went right on the needles. The links to the hats are listed in the Mother and Son Hat post. Same yarn etc. The only change was to the baby hat I added a ball to the top. I just love the mother hat pattern. I think I have mentioned that before.
I am not sure if the picture of the hats laying on a baby afghan will show up, I never did get them uploaded to flickr. If it does the blanket is a simple sc with Baby Clouds, It is for a friend of my DD that is due in Nov. It has been a mindless joy. Large hook, big yarn, baby colors a nice change for me. I am thinking of a border hmmm.

To the frog pond
This is my projects only blog. Maybe this does not count.
Have you ever seen a sk. of yarn and think it was lovely then knit it up and ugh!. Well this was a ugh moment. The yarn is not horrible its just I was not expecting so much pink. This yarn I am sure will be for a very nice baby girl sweater. My mistake was making a triangle short row scarf. Once I started I could not stop. I was committed to this ugly scarf and sure as shootin I was going to finish it. (My mother was a Houston(Scottish) ). Then I was well over half done when I said to myself. "Shall I make an ugly hat to go with it?." Good grief self... I frogged it .

Mother and Son Hats
The baby hat is from the knitlist. It is also linked in the baby hat patterns under Heart Hat Bev has a wonderful site full of so much information.
The girls hat is from the blog i dream of knitting the hat is called Robin's Egg Blue Hat. I love this pattern.
The hat is made for Bri Z. and my new grandson Gus T. mother and son hats. The hats were made from Bernat Softee chunky. The button matches perfectly in person. The button is from Wal- Mart. The colors did not come out as pretty as they really are. I wish the flap around the hat showed up better. It is a lovely pattern well written. I will make more.

Stars
The blue star baby afghan is made from Red Heart Baby Clouds. using a K hook. What a pain I had to count each stitch. It was worth it, but never again. Both stars used the pattern Beth's Little Star Afghan from
The yellow star used a G hook and Bernat softee chunky yarn. It is a rug for Gus T's nursery. It measures 48 inches to each point. It should fit well under the rocking chair. I will put duck tape (bright yellow) on the wrong side to keep it flat. Extra tape will be put on the points to keep them from flipping up. I have did this to my main rug in the hall and it works well.
The yarn was on sale. Our Wal-Mart had Baby Clouds for just 2.00 dollars. They will no longer carry it. I bought some new variegated Bernat softee chunky that was not on sale. Very pretty colors. Yes, I have cast on a scarf and a hat. I am weak. I did work two rows of the pink ribbon design in the felted purse tonight.

BSJ I own you!!!!!
I know everyone that makes this sweater loves it. Me well....not so much. I think it was the color of the yarn. Vanna White's new yarn and size 7 needles almost 3 sks. This is a thicker worsted than lets say Red Heart Super Saver. The lighting in the store I purchased this yarn must have been off. When I looked at it at home it was just drab. In the store it seems to have a heather type look. I wish I had bought another color.
This will be the jacket I keep to look at when I make another one. Yes, I will make another one someday. In a solid color with stripes. I could not make up my mind what type of M1 to use so this jacket has every know increase possible. It is not perfect. I worked out my own theory on what EZ meant when she wrote the pattern. I hope my next jacket will make it to a baby. Just thinking of all the colors I can use makes me want to cast on....better not.
I am working on a star rug for Gus T's nursery. It is yellow (starfish like). His room is an ocean theme. I still have the pink ribbon bag on the needles and I am working the graph now. I have 15 more rows of the design left. I still have to knit the handles, gusset, and the back. Then on to felting. It has been more work than I thought it would be.

Baby Girl Sweater
This sweater set went to a little one to be born in Oct. Her mother and dad were thrilled. (blush)
The sweater is like this sweater I change the pattern each time I use a different yarn. I always increase under the arms and depending on the yarn in the front and decrease the neck. The yarn I used for this sweater was Mainstay. I used a G hook. The buttons were from Wal-Mart. The hat is from the book CROCHET HATS by Candi Jensen (Sherbet-Topped Baby). The yarn is a sk. I was given and I gather it was made in Italy and shipped from Germany that was all that was on the wrapper. It is a mistake to use a variegated on this pattern. I just wanted a simple small hat. I did not care it the design of the ripple did not show up. I was just glad it turned out this cute and a stash sk. was used. The flower I just winged it. I did add French knots in the center of the flowers. The booties are Fake Maryjanes
I think the set looks perfect for a Fall baby. I should have mentioned I flipped the brim up on the hat.
