Being in my 60s is Looking up.

    Bri. Z. (my daughter-in love DIL) made me a cake for my birthday.  Three layers girls from scratch choc cream cheese frosting. It is divine. I cannot tell you when someone made me a cake...its been awhile the last one may have had clown candles(((smiles))).  It made me cry.

    I have many things to put up. 3 hats, a baby blanket and some things on the needles. Its a busy time on the side of our hill.

Baby Sweater detox progress

The weekend off from the baby sweater detox center ( my mom's house)
I took no baby sweater patterns yarn or anything related to baby sweaters. Dino hat is from Sept/Oct/09 Crochet Today. Looking at my baby sweater file....Sweet

Mini Mouse Sweater ( I don't want to get in trouble with Disney;) I love this yarn..yarn..Hat pattern is mine and I am really proud of it. app is mine I saw one on esty after I had started this and since its not made the same way I feel comfortable not buying it. My mini app was made not breaking the yarn from beginning till the end not even for the ears..graph like. I can tell you this is much cuter in person...honest. The booties are Sylver Designs crocheted booties. I always knit them, but not this time. Sweater pattern

I should not call this a Peter Rabbit Sweater, but I am going to anyway. I loved the little blue sweater maybe because I can't pull off really super cute boy sweaters. I came really close this time. Sweater pattern
The yarn is I Love This Yarn. The apps are mine rev sc around the sweater. The hat is mine and I don't like it...going to make a brown bunny hat with soft pink ears. The hat will get blue booties and will be given away separately.

If I can do the Mini app again maybe a Mickey sweater someday. Dad's surgery is Wed at 6:15 am that means getting up at 4:00am to be there on time...my dears hold me close...I will be gone for a little while. Hug my Bugs

Sweet top down crocheted baby sweater !!!!

I have the big eye as grandma would say. I cannot sleep. I have had the GKs for 4 days. We stayed up late and slept in. I can't seem to get back on track.

I am over half done on the shell blanket. I am slowly quilting the quilt (will be much more on that when it is done)

The sweater is very cute a lovely little pattern and there are many more to choose from. Sweater Cotton yarn and rubber buttons. The hat is and Angel Craft pattern and you must be a member in case you are it is the baby floppy brim hat. The booties are the fake Mary Jane's

The set was all made with cotton yarn and I just rev. sc around the sweater. The hat I made adjustable with a tie and made a hatband in contrasting color to hide the tie. The flowers were just rip offs of the buttons to make it seem more a set.

I am proud I have made several different sweater patterns from my folder I have had since the 90s. I always meant to make at least one of each, but never have. I need to knit one now. I want to make the garter st. beribboned sweater one of these days. I think this soft yellow one is adorable very sweet pattern.

I have many steps to take in the morning. July and August are busy months for us on the side of the hill.

My dears may you have as much pleasure in your life this week as you can endure. I think I could stand a bunch wish it back.

Edit GOOD GREIF!!! I forgot to put the yellow centers in the flowers. Think yellow centers for I am not taking new pics...it does add zip to the hat and booties.

Gone Quilting

If you wonder what I am doing ....gone quilting. Dad has eye surgery plus lots of Dr. appointments for the next 3 months. I already have 3 appointments for him next week. My busy bag is packed to take with me. Lots to do this Summer.

Bib This is Marla's bib pattern. I did a little fancy work on it because the movie was still on ((smiles)). I wonder how many others just have to have something to do when they sit down. I like the pattern . The yarn I used curled on me so I rev sc around the bib. I think its really cute.

Finally the quilt is in the frame. I started a baby blanket as well. I can only quilt for a spell then I must sit in my recliner with my feet up..I am such an old woman. Every time I start to quilt I can hear my chickie grandma say, " How many reaches you think we will get before duty calls".

I wish for you good memories this week and maybe a snowcone....I would dearly love a grape one.

Compare the Two BSJs

Looking at the 2 I think that Jenny King did a bang up job translating the sweater to crochet. The arms on the knitted BSJ are a tad short as well. I kept the ugly brown one to use when I made my next knitted BSJ. I never did. Its on my list for this Fall.

I have Ya's quilt all spread out to put in the frames . Yea today is the day( maybe) it gets started. I plan on doing all the things I promised for Fall in the next few weeks. After I am finished with the Fall scarves, mitts and hats, its back to baby sweaters and quilting. I think plans are lovely things. Hugs
